When you order products from Barn Shadow Enterprises, you are purchasing them f.o.b. or "free on board" which means that we are responsible for loading the goods onto a transport vehicle. It is inherently the customer's responsibility to arrange for shipping, or pick-up. While we are not in the freight transportation business per se, Barn Shadow can & will assist you in obtaining the most appropriate and economical mode of transport for the products you have ordered from us. For any shipping quote we need to figure the geometry of your goods, calculate the weight of the products ordered, require the destination zipcode, and need to be aware of any special instructions that may pertain to delivery. In all cases you will be responsible for unloading the goods at your location.

YOUR TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

• Common Carrier - such as Yellow Freight, Overnite, CCX, Estes, etc. (closed vans) usually used for smaller, compact orders which may be palletized; may require special packaging to further protect goods from potential damage as common carrier mode may load & unload your goods several times during their transit at distribution centers. Usually the least expensive mode of transport; not a particularly suitable mode for many types of products that we provide.
• Tractor Trailer - full flatbed or drop-deck (TL) mode, or partial flatbed (LTL) mode; usually the most appropriate mode of transport for our types of products; once loaded, your goods never leave the truck until they reach your destination. Services most often arranged by freight brokers. We highly recommend these pros for efficient, trouble-free service! • Private Contract Hauling - some shipments are best suited to be carried on a goose-neck trailer for greater maneuverability at the jobsite delivery location; fully insured & cost is competitive with LTL shipping but the driver, our contracted agent, will assist with loading & unloading and will professionally care for your shipment from start to finish.
• Pick-Up - depending on your proximity relative to our various operations, it may sometimes be suitable for you to provide your own transport vehicle which we will load for you.
